Ty Schoffstall | Assistant Coach
Ty Schoffstall enters his first season as the assistant coach for the VMI wrestling program.
Schoffstall comes to the Institute by way of Edinboro University where he was a two-time NCAA Tournament qualifier as a member of the Fighting Scots wrestling team from 2015-18. Named a team captain as a senior, he earned runner-up status at 174 pounds at the Eastern Wrestling League Championship in March. As a junior in 2017, Schoffstall earned an individual EWL title at 174 pounds to help his team to the league title. He also earned an individual championship for the weight class at the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Championship and helped the Fighting Scots to the team title that season.
Ty also played an important role at Edinboro wrestling camps, serving as a counselor as he taught high school grapplers various techniques and how to properly train for the sport.
He earned a bachelor of arts in health with a focus on physical education from Edinboro in May.
Cameron Timok | Assistant Coach
Cameron Timok joins the VMI coaching staff as an assistant for the 2019-2020 season. He was a two-time NCAA Division III All-American at Central College in Pella, Iowa. Timok earned his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science with a coaching endorsement certification this May. The Richmond, Va. native (Hermitage H.S.) finished sixth this winter at 125 pounds at the Division III National Championships to take home the second All-American accolades of his career.
He taught at Head Start Wrestling from 2013-15 and served as a volunteer student coach while at Central College in 2015-16 and as needed last season. Timok also offered private wrestling lessons from 2013-15.
